Disable DNS Lookup Cisco Device

By default on Cisco devices the DNS lookup feature will be active, this feature useful if the router’s job is to be the DNS server on the network, but otherwise this function will cause user delay, if give wrong command or url, then dns lookup function it will look for the url on the DNS server. If there is no dns server available terminal will hang when lookup is done. To avoid delay if DNS server is not configured, it’s a good idea to disable DNS lookup function on cisco devices.

To disable it use the following command:

Cisco(config)#no ip domain-lookup
